BLOOD ON THE DOORPOST Bill and Sharon Schnoebelen
As I mentioned when reviewing Bill's biography, "Lucifer Dethroned," Bill and Sharon have lived the lives of those deeply steeped in the occult. I believe that one reason they were allowed to go so deeply into the realm of evil is so that that would be able to deliver others in the clutches of evil. "Blood on the Doorpost" is a fantastic book for deliverance. Bill and Sharon talk about all aspects of the occult, what makes them so attractive, the doorways that open to accept people into them and even the evil spirits that are associated with many of occult practices. What is nice about this book is that it is written by someone who knows how evil works. I would compare it to perhaps Osama Bin Laden's chief lieutenant defecting and divulge every secret known to the terrorists. What I found refreshing is that Bill and Sharon, in recounting some of their attempts at deliverance of friends and such; didn't act like their knowledge of the occult was the only tool they had to fight the powers of darkness. They allowed the Holy Spirit to show them Godly ways of freeing people. On a personal note, I'll be the first to admit that as I read the book I realized that I had some residual habits in my life that I needed to renounce. So the book not only educated me to do spiritual warfare, but it ministered to me so that I can be a better warrior. Rarely do you find such things in a Christian authored help book. Now, I don't know this for sure, but I think that when Bill and Sharon were writing this book, it must have occurred to them that there was so much information and formula to the book that there was no way that someone could remember it all without bookmarking the whole book. So, they put some appendix's in the back to make it easier to resource things. For instance, appendix one lists Possible Demonic Access Points and then breaks them down by category (ie: personal sin doorways or Cults and aberrant Religious Groups. Appendix two talks about procedures for renouncing strongmen from various cults; and it goes into great detail, but in a outline format so that you could actually have the book in your hand while counseling someone. Appendix three is called, "The Taxonomy of Evil" where they describe the Biblical diagnosis of Demonic oppression. There are more, but I will stop here. MY RECOMMENDATION: Buy it; read it again and again and again if you are serious about becoming a powerful spiritual warrior. I could write volumes trying to show you why you should buy and read this book; but all I can say here is that it helped me in my own life and has given me the confidence to be able to step out in stronger and more fervent strides to do some serious combat.
