THE GENESIS FLOOD John C Whitcomb
The mere mention of this book in a roomful of evolutionists is like saying the name of Yeshua in a roomful of demoniacs. The Genesis Flood, is the most reviled book among evolutionists. It's mere mention leaves them frothing at the mouth like rabid dogs. An as anyone who knows anything about spiritual warfare is aware, if the revulsion is so intent among the enemy then it has to be a Holy Spirit inspired book. A simple insertion of the book's name in an internet search engine will reward one with hundreds if not thousands of pages by people that badmouth this book. Simply put, it is amazing. The great thing about this book is that it uses both science and faith to prove a point. Yes, it's true that science can be a useful tool if it is used scientifically, and if done so, without the hindrances of bias and preconceived notions, will always prove the Bible to be true. John Whitcomb and Henry Morris have done just that, and the book is the most convincing one that I've read to prove the flood of Noah and how it changed the geology of the Earth to produce all of the geologic physical features that we see today. The book is a very deep book and is not for those who want a quick read. It can sometimes go into science a bit too deep for those who aren't well read in science, but if one hangs in there the authors always have the reader understanding each chapter before it comes to a conclusion. I always bring this book along when I fly out to conferences or to visit relatives across country. Reading it makes those waiting times between flights go so much faster. Might as well learn while you wait, right? MY RECOMMENDATION: Buy it with the understanding that it's pretty deep; but with the knowledge that you will benefit from what you read. You'll have the answers for the occasional evolution vs. creation debate and if you're a stirring stick like I am, you'll get to see the demonic body language, the facial ticks and the frothing of the mouth that the book produces when used in the discussion. Satan does not like this book!! |
