THE UNVEILING Dennis Gilmour
In the fall of 2005, I was contacted by a man named Dennis Gilmour. Mr. Gilmour said that he'd like to exchange links, telling me that he wants to fight the deception of the end times, and that he had written a fictional book, based on biblical prophecy. He said that the book's subject matter dealt with a race or beings that claimed to have aided in mankind's evolution and that they claimed to be gods who have helped us throughout history. I told Dennis that I would exchange links if I could know more about the book, and the best way to do that would be to read it. Dennis complied and quickly sent me a copy of his book. I really don't want to give away too much of the book because I don't want to give away the plot or story line to any potential readers. Just below is a copy of the back cover of the book: Millions of people from all over the earth instantly vanish off the face of the planet. and not even the world's best scientists can explain why. Then suddenly the leaders of the world, via a special worldwide television broadcast introduce the citizens of all the nations to a powerful race of beings known as the Balazons. Valerie Saunderson and her children Nick and Stephanie watch the special telecast from their home but struggle with uncertainty about whether or not to trust the aliens, as the Balazons admit responsibility for the disappearance of the millions of people as well as the earlier attacks on her husband, Jeff. Jeff Saunderson, local pharmacist in the small town of Star City, had been assaulted at work by one of his best customers, and later Jeff had almost been killed by mysterious men in black suits before being rescued by an equally mysterious woman named Monica. Shocking words of revelation from Khur-ak, the alien leader, threaten to destabilize the world, as the aliens claim to have been invisibly influencing human development for millions of years and are the "gods" that humans have always worshipped. They bring a message of universal peace and prosperity, and communicate a desire to continue to aid mankind's forward evolution, but now openly and with full knowledge. The Balazons admit to making mistakes but claim that they acted with pure motives. they claim they will prove their sincerity if only the inhabitants of the earth will give them a second chance. Jeff and his family face the same difficult choice all humanity must face: fear and reject the Balazons because of what they did, or forgive and accept them with open arms. Jeff refuses to embrace the Balazons. He cannot shake the feeling that something more sinister is afoot and starts as determined search for confirmation that his instincts are correct. Will or even should , the world trust the Balazons? They've been watching us for millennia...now it's our turn to see them! I received the book in the mail on a Thursday. I read the back cover right away and I knew immediately that I wouldn't be getting anything done the following weekend. My belief became a reality; I couldn't put the book down. I read it until I fell asleep early Sunday morning and finished it sometime Sunday afternoon. I'm usually not one for fiction, but when it's based on a person's interpretation of future prophetic events I relent to my cautions and just go for it. I did the same thing with the Left Behind series of books. Read all of them in a month's time. What I really liked about the book is that it portrayed the aliens as extraterrestrials, but it also gives you the idea that these aliens are really the angels that rebelled. The aliens explain that they have been the ones who were worshipped as gods all through history; which is a truth that isn't spoken too much. The fact that the book equates the aliens with fallen angels, really blessed me because it is a belief that I hold to. There was one issue I had with the book. First, near the beginning of the book, when Jeff was in a living a hell in his house; he enters what is described as an entertainment room, described like the holo-deck on the Star Trek episodes. He finds himself in a market and at the check-out stand he's asked for his right hand or forehead. When I wrote to the author about this I asked him if he thought that people who take the mark during the Tribulation period will be able to be saved. The Bible says that is not possible. The author explained to me that in that scenario, the people were being conditioned for the mark that would be coming soon. The author also remarked that he was astonished that I picked that up, saying that nobody else ever wrote him about that. I also have to remind myself when I'm reading fiction, that it is fiction, not fact. But I have to say that the book, aside from the pre-trib rapture; and the story of creation, located at the end, is pretty well a good description of the deception that I feel will occur during that future period. MY RECOMMENDATION: So, I make "The Unveiling," as a should read to all who read this. You can get a copy by going to: http://www.theunveilingbook.com/ Shalom in Messiah Dave |
