THE DAYS OF NOAH AND SAME SEX MA

The whole premise of this text is a phrase that Yeshua mentioned to His disciples during one of their many teachings. The disciples had originally asked Yeshua what the signs would be of His second coming. Yeshua went into many things, but the teaching that we continue to examine is rooted in the following passage:

Many people just pass over this passage when they read it because it is sort of vague. I imagine that to some it's sort of confusing so they pass by it, thinking that what they don't know won't hurt them. Perhaps to others they don't want to investigate because they think there is little to shed light on what the days of Noah were like. There could be a great variety of reasons why the Days of Noah aren't studied, and the intent isn't to list such thing, but to study what the days of Noah were really like.

This passage has always caught my eye; and one day, after listening to a recorded message about it I decided to do my own study on the matter. I did this because Yeshua was giving us a hint of what society will be like when He's about to return. So, like every good student, I got out my Bible and some other works that described what life was like before the great deluge destroyed the world. I don't know about you, but I want to know if our society belongs to the generation Yeshua said would exist at the time of His return; because if it is, we need to be ready to meet Him and help others to come to faith in Him before it's too late.

This study is broken up into several studies because there were distinct world situations at the time; and although they are all related to certain individuals who corrupted mankind through their rebellion toward God, and all the actions are interrelated, I felt that breaking them up into different documents would make reading easier for those visiting this site. This particular document deals with homosexuality and same-sex marriage that occurred before the flood. Before you make any judgments, read the article. You might be surprised at what the Bible and some extra-Biblical works tell us about events before God destroyed the world with the deluge.

In our modern era we humans tend to be quite puffed up about our accomplishments. Anyone who lived prior to one hundred twenty years ago; if they could somehow be transported to our modern time, would be astounded by what mankind has achieved. Before the train was invented there was a hypothesis that a person could not survive traveling speeds over forty miles per hour. Those during that era who dreamed of manned flight were labeled as crazy and told, "if men were meant to fly, God would have given them wings." Travel to the moon was only entertained in the mind as was any notion of a ship that could travel submerged for extended periods of time. Yet in our modern time all of these things are reality.

To bring it to a more recent time I can summarize the things that I have seen come into fruition during my time. When I was in high school, the thought of having a personal computer was not even considered. We thought that we were hot stuff with our electric typewriters and our pocket calculators were just coming into reality for the general public. Funny too is that although we possessed them, we were banned from using them in school; the teacher's premise being that we needed to be able to calculate equations should a calculator not be handy. When I was a young child, there were only three network television channels, maybe four if you count public television. Channels only came on during certain times of the day and sign-on and sign-off were both done with our national anthem playing while patriotic images flashed across the screen. In the TV Guide, programs were posted like they are today, but they included a little logo proclaiming the program was broadcast in "color" for those lucky enough to have a color television set. We danced to records which had scratches and skips and the FM band on the radio was a new thing.

Today we are really spoiled by way of the technology we possess. In the period of ten minutes I can access information it would have taken me weeks to research in libraries and through other channels. I can watch hundreds of channels on my television and they come through crystal clear on a relatively inexpensive television set. I could go on for a long time, but I think we can agree that our modern era is one of wonders.

With all of these blessings and comforts, we have been presented with something that, although considered a blessing, is quite a curse. Frankly, we have too much time to think and ponder things. Not that doing those things is wrong, but sometimes, out of boredom, our ponderings become imaginations worked into reality.

We tend to think that with our enlightenment, comes changes in order. We've replaced the reality of God with the notion that science and reason can solve all the ills of human society. On many an occasion I've talked with people about some of the wrong ways our society is heading or, in some cases we've been practicing. I try to use illustrations from the Bible to show why some practices like abortion, homosexuality, lack of ethics and such are wrong and I almost always get the same answer. The answer that I get is that we are living in modern times and that the Bible really doesn't relate to people's thoughts, lives and aspirations in our modern age. Sadly too, I have to report that I've heard this come from the lips of some who profess to be Christians.

But what makes our modern era different than every other era since the creation? The answer is, nothing. The only change is the attitude of people. The same sun raises over the mountains and sets behind the ocean here in California. The seasons still change. The rains still come in the winter and the searing heat continues in the summer. No, the physical world is the same, just people change. But mankind, while touting that he is so wise has in it's possession one of many major flaws. People just can't seem to remember that those who don't remember history are doomed to repeat it. For some reason, every new generation thinks that it is smarter than the one that proceeded it. One illustration came in my own life. When I was growing up I was constantly told that abusing drugs and alcohol would ruin my life should I attempt to do such a thing. My attitude was that I was being preached to by some old people who only wanted to quash my life by making me as boring as theirs were. I honestly thought that I could master the abuse of drugs and for a while I was fooled into believing that I was the master of them. My pride had led me down a road to destruction, and after much angst I realized that the old folks were right. I had to eat my pride, confess that they were right all along and had to recover from the damage that still effects me today. You see, today I have an arrhythmia that sometimes causes my heart to beat in strange manners. It's a defect in the wiring of my heart that some doctors have attributed to an enlarged atrium. How did it get this way? Some say that it was brought about by high blood pressure which can enlarge the atrium. I know what brought it on though. It was all those days, months and years that I was disobedient to my elders, when I took drugs to keep me awake. Those drugs caused my young heart to beat very fast many hours a day and in effect the heart responded by developing a wiring problem. Now those who knew better tried to tell me about the history of drug abuse that had been observed for many year and through many scientific tests, but I thought I knew better and now I live with the consequences of my actions. The "history" was there for me to read and study, but I just ignored it, thinking I could change history; oh what a foolish notion. By God's grace the condition is under control, because God graciously has a way of bailing out those who ignore history if they ask Him to.

So we've seen that it's people who are the ones who change. The laws of the universe remain the same because they were written by God almighty and He's set all things in motion and He keeps those things in good working order. But the universe and the physical realm lack something that God has given to people; that thing being "free will." He's given us the choice to choose between right and wrong, good and bad and sadly, most people seem to continually make the wrong choices. God really gets the blame for everything that is not his fault. When you get pulled over by a police officer for breaking traffic laws chances are that you'll mumble God's name in vain while you frantically search for your paperwork that he'll demand to see. When an aunt or uncle happen to die from cancer because they smoked tobacco like a chimney for fifty years we blame God; accusing Him of not stepping in and healing our relative. When a mother loses her newborn child we blame God but we ignore that the mother drank alcohol or abused drugs during pregnancy. When our nation was attacked in 2001 someone had the unmitigated gall to ask where God had been when the planes hit the Twin Towers. Well, what about a nation that has basically told God to get lost; that we don't need Him anymore. When God is in the founding of a nation, or in the rebirth of a person, He'll never leave unless He's told to get out!

How do we know that God is unchanging in His ways and precepts? Simple, He tells us so in His word and then He back up His word by His actions.

Ask any Bible believing Born Again Christian if they think in the Last Days, as foretold in the Bible, and they will in most cases answer a resounding, "YES!" Why would they say that? Well, there are a few scriptures that describe the world as it is today:

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was. 2 Timothy 3:1-9

So let's examine in modern terms what this scripture means because some of the words might not be familiar in the contemporary vernacular. Well, we know what lovers of own selves means. Covetous means that people will desire to have what others possess, including their spouses, sons and daughters. We've all seen boasters; people who are legends in their own minds. Pride comes next; thinking that what they've accomplished is by them and them alone. To blaspheme means to take the things of God and corrupt them; sort of like a a lot of the cults that have been popping up all over the place; claiming to be from the God of Israel, but turning things around. Seen any of that lately? Disobedience to parents is self explanatory. It's always existed, but not at the heights it exists now. Unthankfulness is at an all time high. Being a man I see this all the time when I hold a door open for a woman. There was a time when such an action was met with gratefulness, now it's not even acknowledged. And that was only one example. Holiness means to be godlike or have many attributes of living a godly life; a rare thing these days. Without natural affection means that a person doesn't have love and respect for other human beings. It could also be alluding to homosexuality. Then we come to trucebreakers. There was a time when you could trust a person's word by just a handshake. Now a days you can't even trust their signed name on a contract. False accusers are rampant; just watch the news every night; especially where politics are concerned. Incontinent means to lack self restraint or self control. Seen any of that lately? Television and movies go out of their way to promote incontinence.

People nowadays are very fierce. Many don't care who they have to step upon to achieve a higher status or goal. Many are also fierce in the way they conduct their person to person skills. Many divorce because they are fiercely devoted to themselves rather than their supposed loved one. The world is full of those who despise those who do good. Walk into any secular social setting and announce to everyone that you are a Christian and see what happens; you won't have too many friends there. Our society is full of traitors. The US Government is infested with traitors, but the connotation here is traitors to the Christian faith. So many become believers because it is the thing to do, or because a spouse or lover is a believer. The minute the relationship goes sour; so does any supposed love for God. When the God "vending machine" fails to give what the heretic orders that person leaves the faith; like they had any faith to begin with? Heady people are people who are extremely impressed with themselves and like to let others know it too. High-minded people are those who think they are more intelligent than anyone else.

How many do you know who love pleasure rather than love God. There are so many ways that this is true in modern society that one could write a whole book about it. Therefore, it is self-explanatory. Then we are told to turn away from people who have a form of godliness, but deny the power that imparts godliness. I feel that this speaks of organizations that call themselves churches, but are really social clubs. One example is all of the modern mainline churches who call themselves Christians, yet they condone lifestyles and practices that God abhors. Evolutionists are another group that fits into this category; claiming to have all the answers of how we got here, but denying the Creator who made everything. We're expressly told to flee from these types of things. How many televangelists have crept into women's houses and led them away; taken them for everything they own. How many fallen pastors have fornicated with their female parishioners; pastors who may have never been real believers falling in lust and performing acts of perversion that might only be rivaled by the pornographic industry. I've seen it, have you? The scripture also says that these sort of people are always learning, but are never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Again I believe this talks about counterfeit Christians and people like evolutionists. They are in search for the truth, and although the truth is plain they ignore it, looking for a truth that will confirm the preconceived notions that they hold in their hearts and minds. Paul says that these sort of people are like Jannes and Jambres, Pharaoh's two magicians who went out of their way to counterfeit the miracles that God was performing through Moses in Pharaohs court. In the same way, counterfeit Christians and scientists dedicate themselves through countless hours of research to elevate mankind and attempt to discredit the miracles of God as some sort of ancient myth. But God promises us in the scripture above that the works of these false believers will be exposed in due time as counterfeit works from the occult realm.

But now we come to yet another scripture that shows what happens to those who deny God, His Majesty and his rule.

The interesting thing about the scripture above is that it professes that belief in evolution, which is a great denial of God, causes God to pull the plug on any protection that He might have once had over such persons. To paraphrase what is said, God is saying here: "Okay, so you have creation before you to tell you about Me and to show my greatness. Even with that you don't want to believe in me; but you believe things that in your vanity (love of self) you have made up. So, if you want to believe that you came from animals, I'll allow it, but you'll have to live like animals. You think you're really wise, but you're nothing but a bunch of fools. I was protecting your hearts and minds from the darkness that lived in your hearts, but now I give up. You can have your evil ways; and what will it get you? You men will become homosexuals and you'll do things that are horrible to each other. You women will lose your desire for men and will start to desire each other and you too will do things that aren't right. And because you will delight in these things, you will be the very essence of unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness. You'll covet your neighbors possessions and do anything you can to obtain them. You'll actually desire to cause pain, injury or distress to others (maliciousness) and you'll envy everyone else because you don't have what they have. You'll consider and possibly act on murderous thoughts. You'll debate everything with everyone because you'll think that your opinion is more important than all others. You'll constantly act in deceit and you'll be so evil that your attitude will spread throughout your whole being and to others also. Nobody will be able to tell you a secret because you'll be a gossiper and nobody will trust you because they know you'll turn on them when their back is turned. And you'll secretly hate yourself, but you'll blame me for what you've become. And because your conscious will be seared from your denial of me and my truths you'll be full of malice and deceit (despiteful) and you'll even brag about how wonderful you think you are, but you will be deceived. You'll sink so low that you'll actually be an inventor of evil but your inventions will never satisfy you, so you'll grow worse and worse. You'll hate your parents just as much as you hate me because you'll blame them for what you've become; not taking into account that you and only you are responsible for yourself.

You won't have the ability to understand other people's ways and although you hate intolerance, you'll become the epitome of intolerance. Nobody will trust you anymore because you'll be known as someone who can't keep their word and the business world will spurn you because they'll think you're nothing but trouble. Because your heart has grown cold you'll lose the ability to love anyone in any form. You'll hate everyone and nobody will want to be around you because they know that nothing that they can do will every please you. Because you're that way, you will not be able to show mercy to anyone for anything. And the sad thing is that deep down you know what you are doing is wrong. For many years that still small voice deep inside has warned you that you need to repent; that you need to examine your actions and compare them with what God requires of you. You'll know that in the real scheme of things you're probably not worthy of taking another breath. The fleeting thought of changing is replaced with an attitude that you really like what you've become and in a final act of desperation, you'll actually search for others that are like yourself in order to make you feel better. You'll find them because they're looking for you too and you'll all continue to become worse until one day you'll die and join the other countless hell bound souls who lived and believed a lie."

So, by examining the two scriptures where Paul tells us what it will be like during the last days we can see that it's impossible to deny that we are in that period of time. But what does this have to do with the days of Noah? Lets examine that below.

We are again reminded that Yeshua said that the conditions on Earth will be just like they were during the days of Noah. In the movies that have been made in Hollywood that depict that time, we see a strange absence of the homosexual lifestyle. In the 1950's movie, "The Bible" we are shown a scene where the angels of God make a deal with Abraham that if so many righteous people can be found in Sodom, then God will spare the city. If not, then God would destroy the Cities of The Plain. In that scene, we see fornication mildly noted and we even get a hint of bestiality but when it comes to the homosexual lifestyle we see men dressed sort of funny and even some in makeup but hardly what one would see if they were to visit the Castro District or walk down Polk Street in San Francisco. So, because Hollywood and other outlets won't reveal the truth, for whatever reason, we have to rely on the words of Yeshua. But, who better to rely on than the ultimate authority on everything.

Like so many other people, I've read Luke, chapter 17 many times but never picked up on what our Lord Yeshua was telling us in His briefing about the end of days. I can't claim this discovery though. On April 29, 2005 a dear sister named Jennifer, whom I had never met before wrote an e-mail to me. She said that she had visited the site and had made an interesting observation of Yeshua's briefing in Luke chapter 17. Let's look again at the scripture and then we'll pull it apart to look at it.

Again, Yeshua starts out by saying that society in the days of His return will be like it was in the days of Noah. He says that they ate and drank; nothing new there. Then he says that they married wives; nothing new there. But let's take a moment to look at what the betrothal process was back in Yeshua's day. In his day there was a patriarchal society and the main functions of women were to cook, clean, provide pleasure for their husbands and to produce children. Marriages were arranged for the most part although some freedom did exist. If two families were close they would arrange the marriage of their children. The family of the prospective groom would pay a dowry for the bride and if the bride's family would approve then things were placed into motion. Note that the women were always given in marriage and that they were given to the men.

But, when we look at what Yeshua was saying, he says that the same "they" that were marrying wives (they, being men) were also given in marriage. Since a man in Yeshua's time could never be given in marriage to a woman, we have to come to the conclusion that Yeshua was telling the disciples that men were being given in marriage to other men. It's really the only way to look at the discourse. Now, I believe that since Yeshua knew that someone would try to debate this, He gave us another hint so that there would be no doubt as to what he was saying.

It is awful interesting that right after he tells us about the homosexuals before the flood, and then he tells that the flood came; He then uses an illustration about Lot living in Sodom. And, Yeshua uses the analogy that Lot was rescued from Sodom and that very day judgment came upon Sodom. What what the main sin of Sodom? Their sin was homosexuality for it is from the word Sodom that we get the name for the perverted act of sodomy. So, Yeshua was telling us that in the last days, it will be like when there was homosexuality before the flood and he cements the idea into force by saying that it will be like it was in Sodom. Very interesting indeed!

This "same sex marriage" as it is so labeled by the political correct people, is nothing new. It is just a sign of the time; a sign that this world is just as it was during the days of Noah. Although it is a highly perverted act and one that God hates and we should hate too, we should glory at the fact that this sign of the times is yet another proof that the Bible is right; that Yeshua is the Son of God; and that He's coming soon to get us out of this stinking world.
