LEGEND: Normal Text, Biblical Text,
Extra-Biblical Text, Secular
Text
THE PREMISE:
In this series of articles we have been looking at one
scripture and we've then been examining what the ramifications of the words of
Yeshua are concerning His warning. The scripture we have been looking is as
follows:
And as it was in the days of Noe, so
shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. Luke
17:26
So far, we've seen in our study, that the days of
Noah (Noe) had many parallels to our modern time in history. We saw that some
rebellious angels left their heavenly estate and cohabitated with human woman
and that the result of that union was what was known as the Nephilim. We also
examined some extra-biblical texts; namely the book of Enoch, Jubilees and the
Genesis Apocryphon and saw that they confirm the history where the angels are
concerned as well as their offspring, the Nephilim. We also looked at the modern
day Nephilim in the manner of them residing in genetically produced shells that
some refer to as aliens or extraterrestrials.
We've also looked at what appears to be scripture
as well as references from Jubilees and Jasher that show that the angels taught,
among other things, the practice of gene manipulation to mankind. We now have a
clear understanding of where the ancients got their many strange gods, such as
the unicorn, the minotaur, the centaur and other oddities. They were stories
passed down from the antediluvian period. We then saw how genetic manipulation
is nothing but that practice revived in our modern day.
Thirdly, we looked at scripture and became aware
that homosexuality and same-sex marriage really aren't anything new, but were
quite the norm before Noah's flood that destroyed the world.
Now it's time to look at a physical trait of the
earth that existed before the flood, and what might come about in our modern
era.
EARTH WAS DIFFERENT BEFORE THE FLOOD:
There are scriptures that bear witness to the
fact that before the flood of Noah's time, the world was a drastically different
place. But before we do that, let's look at some of the physical evidence that
we have that proves this point. What evidence do we have that we can touch with
our own hands and see with our eyes plainly? We have the fossil record. Many of
you reading this will no doubt be either unbelievers who believe in the false
nonscientific assertion that everything you see evolved from basically nothing.
There are others who will argue that God might have had a hand in assisting the
evolutionary process over millions if not billions of years. I believe that God
created all that exists in a scant 6 days and then refrained on the seventh day.
But humor me for a while and assume that I'm right and that God's word is right.
Let's start from the beginning.
Many would argue that the Biblical Creation
scenario parallels the evolutionary one. That is a wrong assumption and a simple
reading of the Biblical text will bear that out. For instance, evolution theory
says that states that first there was land, then came the seas. The Bible
states:
And God said, "Let there be
an firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it
separate the waters from the waters." And God made the firmament and
separated the waters that were under the firmament from the waters
that were above the firmament. And it was so. And God called the
firmament Heaven. And there was evening and there was
morning, the second day. And God said, "Let the waters under the
heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land
appear." And it was so. 10God called the
dry land Earth, and the waters that were gathered
together he called Seas. And God saw that it was good.
Genesis 1:6-9
So God states (and who's a better witness) that
he created the seas first and then brought forth the dry land after that. That
is a direct refuting of the evolutionary belief. One has to be right and one has
to be wrong; there is no melding of the two.
Let's look at the rest of the Creation event just
for the fun of it:
And God said, Let the waters under
the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land
appear: and it was so. And God called the dry land Earth; and the
gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it
was good. And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb
yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind,
whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. And the
earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind,
and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his
kind: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning
were the third day.
And God said, Let there be lights
in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and
let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And
let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light
upon the earth: and it was so. And God made two great lights; the
greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the
night: he made the stars also. And God set them in the firmament of
the heaven to give light upon the earth, And to rule over the day
and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and
God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the
fourth day.
And God said, Let the waters bring
forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that
may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God
created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which
the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every
winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God
blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters
in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. And the evening and
the morning were the fifth day.
And God said, Let the earth
bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping
thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. And God
made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their
kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind:
and God saw that it was good. And God said, Let us make man in our
image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish
of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and
over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon
the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God
created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed
them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and
replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish
of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living
thing that moveth upon the earth. And God said, Behold, I have given
you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the
earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding
seed; to you it shall be for meat. And to every beast of the earth,
and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon
the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for
meat: and it was so. And God saw every thing that he had made, and,
behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the
sixth day. Genesis 1:9-31
Another difference comes in the creation of plant
life. Evolution says that the sun was created first and then after a long time
enough space junk compiled together to make the planets. Genesis says that after
God made the earth there was no sun or moon. God says that He created the plant
life on Earth on the third day, and then created the sun, moon and stars on the
fourth day. If you try to meld the two, which some foolishly try to do; then I
have to wonder how the plants, that thrive making their food by way of
photosynthesis from sunlight could have possibly have survived for millions of
years without the sun. In addition to that, according to the Biblical account,
the animals that would be the pollinators of the plants were created either on
the fifth or sixth day.
Evolution thought tells us that birds evolved
from reptiles. The Creation account has the birds being created the day before
any of the land animals; that includes the reptiles. Whales are created on the
fifth day along with the fish all other aquatic animals according to God's
testimony whereas evolution says that whales supposedly came millions of years
after where the Bible places them; namely, with the fish. And we also see that
there is a time factor. Time is what evolution is built upon; without time as a
factor, evolution crumbles into the dust from whence it came. The Creation
Account doesn't have to rely on time because an all powerful God can create
anything He wants to in a very short amount of time. So we can see that there is
no parallel between the Creation Model and the evolutionary thought.
SOME UNIQUE ANTEDILUVIAN EARTH
FEATURES:
Ask any Bible scholar about the condition of the
Earth before the flood of Noah and they'll tell you that things were very
different on this planet. Let me clarify that a little. I meant that if you
asked any Christian Bible Scholar. There are many people who study the Bible,
both in the worldly setting and in a pseudo-Christian setting that will tell you
differently. I refer to those who hold to the truth that the Bible is the
inerrant Word of God; not those imposters who claim the name Christian, but who
take scripture out of context or those who change the wording of the Bible to
suit their agenda.
The Water or Ice Canopy:
In Genesis we find a very interesting scripture
that, when studied in depth, lends a lot of explanation to some of the
extraordinary claims made about the earth and it's inhabitants in antediluvian
times. The following scripture is sort of odd and has been explained in
different ways, but let's look at it and then examine it:
And God said, "Let there be
an firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the
waters from the waters." And God made the firmament and separated the waters
that were under the firmament from the waters
that were above the firmament. And it was so. And God called the
firmament Heaven. And there was evening and there was
morning, the second day. And God said, "Let the waters under the
heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land
appear." And it was so. God called the
dry land Earth, and the waters that were gathered
together he called Seas. And God saw that it was good.
Genesis 1:6-9
In this scripture, we can see that God made three
different (four if you count the dry land) parts of the outer world. The first
one is the "firmament in the midst of the waters." this firmament was made to
separate the waters from the waters. This is not the dry land. That would be
made later. There is now water under the firmament and water above the
Firmament. The firmament is the atmosphere. For many years those who thought
they knew better taught that the waters above the expanse were actually the
clouds. There is no indication that clouds ever existed before the flood. We'll
look at that statement in a little while.
God's Word is quite explicit, especially where
God himself explains things. God specifically commanded that there be water
above the firmament. He never commanded it to be "in" the firmament. He talks
about the birds, commanding that they should fly "in" the firmament, but
commands the waters to be only below it, and above it. Thus we have a water, or
perhaps an ice canopy.
There would be certain advantages to having a
water canopy above the earth's atmosphere. First, it would shield the earth from
Ultra Violet rays. It is well known that ultraviolet rays cause cancer in some
individuals and they, along with other rays are responsible for the breakdown of
things on earth. These rays burn your skin, they fade colors and their constant
bombardment on your body cause you to age. Your body has to constantly work
harder to replace the cells that UV and other rays destroy during the daylight
hours. Because the effects of harmful rays would have been greatly minimized and
perhaps eliminated altogether, people and animals would live much longer lives.
This would explain the long life-spans we read about in Genesis. It would also
explain the dinosaurs. It is a common fact that reptiles never stop growing.
Given a garden atmosphere, constant warm temperatures and any lizard could grow
to be a monster, or a dinosaur, especially if it lived a thousand or more years.
A water canopy above the earth would have made
for a more dense air pressure on earth. A higher air pressure would have many
benefits. Among them would be that a person could have much more endurance
because the higher pressure would enable the lungs to use oxygen much more
efficiently. It could help in the healing process too. Studies have shown that
people who have been placed in a barometric chamber after injuries have healed
much faster than if they hadn't been put there. Barometric chambers have been
used to treat people with gangrene, frostbite and other ailments that would have
caused the loss of limbs had they not been treated with high pressure.
A water canopy would have create a greenhouse
effect on earth. The temperature would have been the same all around the world,
with perhaps a small temperature variance between the poles and the equator.
Because of the greenhouse effect, there would have been no rain or snow storms or destructive winds. Storms are created by
the heating and cooling of air masses, but with a constant temperature this
would not have happened. Plants would have grown to enormous size because the
higher pressure would have allowed the stoma of the plants to open much more
allowing greater respiration and better photosynthesis. Insects would have grown
much larger than they do today. Insects breath through their skin and their body
size determines how much oxygen they can absorb through their exoskeleton. If
the atmospheric pressure was higher all insects would naturally be larger
because their surface body could increase with the increased pressure to enter
their biosystems. The fantastic thing is that the fossil record bears witness to
the fact that animals were larger before the flood. This too works against
evolutionary theory because according to their prophets, conditions on earth
have always been the same, and if that were to be true, then the fossils that we
should be finding would be similar in size to the plants and animals that are
living on earth today.
No Actual Rain Before
The Flood:
It is understood by most biblical scholars that
it didn't rain before the flood of Noah, as we can see by one little scripture:
These are the generations of
the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that
the LORD God made the earth and the heavens, And every plant of the
field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before
it grew: for the LORD God
had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to
till the ground. But there went up a mist from the earth, and
watered the whole face of the ground. Genesis 2:4-6
Bearing this in mind, it is now
easy to understand how Noah was ridiculed for building an ark on dry land. Aside
from the belief that most hold, the land to sea ratio was reversed before the
flood (lots of land and few seas) and Noah might have been hundreds of miles
from any significant body of water; the ancients probably had never seen rain.
Imagine trying to preach to people that God was going to destroy the whole earth
with rain and flood when they had never seen either.
I always wondered how the mist would work and how
it would know every day to go off. Did God have some sort of elaborate sprinkler
system, or did He build into His creation something more complicated. Also, if
there was more land than water before the flood, where did all of the seas come
from? My answers came when I read about what is called the "Hydroplate Theory."
Put in simplest terms, the hydroplate theory suggests that before the flood, the
continent(s) of the earth rode upon a large reservoir of water. That is all well
and good, but how does that explain how the mist came up to water the earth?
Well, I believe the Lord has given me that answer. Anyone who has lived around
the sea is familiar with what are called tides. The tides are effected by the
sun and the moon. The gravitational attraction of both bodies pull on the oceans
and seas to cause them to rise and fall. In any 24 hour period there are two
high tides and two low tides. Now, let's remember that if the hydroplate theory
is correct, and the crust of the earth was riding on underground water, then
every time there would be a high tide, the crust of the earth would have been
lifted ever so slightly by the gravitational force of the moon or sun. When the
low tide arrived, that same crust would be let back down on the underground
water source, forcing water to come up out of fissures in the earth. It was a
natural pump. Depending
on the amount of water under the crust and how fast or slow the crust was forced
back down on that water, there could have been a spray that would have come up
out of those fissures and it could have risen perhaps a thousand feet into the
air, perhaps more. It would not really have time to condense into larger drops
and it would settle on all of the surrounding landmass as a find mist. Notice
that the scripture says that the mist, "watered the whole face of the ground."
That would suggest that there were many fissures around the globe and each one
would work just like a super water sprinkler system. The ancients probably could
time the watering cycles quite accurately, just like in modern days we can tell
exactly when high and low tides will occur on our ocean coastlines.
And it came to pass after
seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth. In the
six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the
seventeenth day of the month,
the same day were all the
fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven
were opened. And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty
nights. In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham,
and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah's wife, and the three wives
of his sons with them, into the ark; They, and every beast after his
kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing
that creepeth upon the earth after his kind, and every fowl after
his kind, every bird of every sort. And they went in unto Noah into
the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life.
And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God
had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in. And the flood was forty
days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark,
and it was lift up above the earth. And the waters prevailed, and
were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the
face of the waters. And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the
earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven,
were covered. Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the
mountains were covered. And all flesh died that moved upon the
earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every
creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man: All in
whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry
land, died. And every living substance was destroyed which was upon
the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping
things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the
earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in
the ark. And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and
fifty days. Genesis 7:10-24
The Hydro-Plate Theory:
Another interesting notion to think about where
the hydroplate theory is concerned, is how it played into the great flood
itself. As we have seen in the scripture above, it didn't rain before the flood.
It's also safe to assume that there were probably no clouds then either; at
least not like we know clouds to be today. Therefore, when the rains came to
flood the earth they didn't come from clouds. Where did they come from? Someone
has suggested, and I think it to be quite valid, that something entered the
atmosphere; probably a large comet or a small asteroid and it shattered the
water/ice canopy which surrounded the earth. If the canopy were made of ice
crystals the canopy could have shattered like a large piece of glass. The pieces
of ice canopy would have melted from the friction of falling to the earth and
turned to rain. When the object (comet or asteroid) finally reached the earth it
would have hit with such force that it would have put tremendous pressure on the
crust that was floating on the subterranean water. The crust, being pushed down
with such force would force the underground water through many fissures and the
crust would have broken allowing great amounts of water to escape at very high
velocity. No one can be certain how fast or far the water could have sprayed,
but hundreds of thousands of feet in height would not be out of the realm of
possibility. The earth would look like a broken egg shell with the water coming
up through the fissures. Today we know those fissure to be the fault lines that
make up the tectonic plate boundaries. The continent(s) would be covered in a
very short period of time from the rains and the water coming from the fountains
of the deep.
Where Did All of The
Water Go?
So where did all of the flood water go? Well,
it's right in the oceans, rivers and lakes. The crust no longer had water under
it to hold it up so some of it collapsed to fill in the void that the water had
left when it was ejected out from underneath. With no ice/water canopy to keep
the earth one temperature, great fluctuations occurred in temperature. Glaciers
and snow packs appeared within days at both poles, locking up a lot of the flood
water. This is what is called the Ice Age, but it was very short and there was
only one. As the years went on the ice slowly melted and separated the land
masses that were once all joined together. It was once possible to walk all
around the world and not get wet. There is an interesting scripture that we'll
touch on and then we'll get back on track.
And unto Eber were born two
sons: the name of one was Peleg;
for in his days was the earth
divided; and his brother's name was Joktan. Genesis 10:25
The name Peleg is a very interesting one. The name,
when translated actually means "divided." The Hebrew word has two
distinctive definitions of "divided." It can either mean divided, as one
would divide a pie into pieces; or it can mean divided as in channeled
by water. Venice Italy would be a good way to describe the second
definition. It can also be used to mean both at the same time. It would
be akin to describing a skiing trip as being "real cool." It could mean
that it was a lot of fun (cool) or that it was actually cool in
temperature, which would both be true.
Okay now, Noah had three sons; Ham, Shem and Japeth.
Ham had a son named Cush and Cush had a son named Nimrod. Nimrod is the
one responsible for building the tower of Babel. Just from a short
glimpse of the genealogies it seems that the persons of importance
mentioned (especially in the lineage of Messiah) all seemed to be born when their fathers were in their
thirties. We don't know how old Ham was when his wife gave birth to Cush,
but let's assume that Cush was born two years after the flood ended.
Then let's assume that Cush was 30 years old when Nimrod was born. And
we'll assume that Nimrod started his building of Babylon and it's tower
when he was in his late twenties; we'll say 27 years old. So it's within
the realm of possibility that Nimrod started building Babylon and its
tower as soon as 59 years after Noah and his family exited the ark.
In Shem's line Arphaxad was probably third in line of
birth because he is listed third in the geneology. So let's be fair and
say that Arphaxad was born five years after Noah and his family exited
the ark. He was 35 years old when his wife gave birth to Salah. Salah
was 30 years old when his wife gave birth to Eber (which is where the
name Hebrew comes from). Eber was 34 years old when Peleg was born to
him. But we have to remember that names of children are usually given
right after the child is born, so if Peleg means division then the
division his name is referring to happened most likely when he was still
in his mother's womb. So, doing the math, the division happened most
likely 103 or so years after Noah's family left the ark. That means that
Nimrod was had ample time (44 years or so) to build not only Babylon but
to have the Tower of Babel well under way.
These figures work out well for several reasons. As
mentioned, it gave mankind enough time to become degenerated yet again,
to the point of totally rejecting the God who saved their ancestors from
the world before. It gave them time to build the city and tower. The
temperature of the earth was not yet in stasis, and the ice at the poles
had not yet started to melt in any major way. So, by the time that Peleg
was born, the confusion of tongues had occurred and probably the
creation of the different families and colors too. Also, because of the
actions of God, the dispersion of the different families around the
world had occurred. The ancestors of the Native Americans had reached
the western world; the ancestors of the mongoloid peoples had reached
eastern Asia; the ancestors of the black African peoples had reached
Africa and the descendants of the Caucasians had reached Eurasia and
some had just stayed in the Middle East. Just before Peleg was born the
ice caps and glaciers started to melt because earth's environment had
reached stasis and the ocean basins finally started to fill up to where
they are today. My personal thoughts are that this is when many of the
great mountain ranges were formed. They were made to be natural barriers
to separate peoples and tongues. Many will argue with that premise,
saying that the geologic forces necessary to make such barriers would
have caused events that would be recorded in history. But when you take
into account that the human race is debating whether the holocaust ever
happened just a scant sixty years ago, who's to say that such things as
mountains raising in a weeks time would be remembered or recorded.
GLOBAL WARMING IN THE MODERN ERA:
Let's face it, if you haven't heard about global
warming they you're either ignorant or you've lived in some remote
village in that has no access to news. Myself, I tend to ignore the
global warming scenario. There are just too many scientists running
around with too many scenarios to believe that any one is true. On the
flip side, we now have scientists running around shouting from the
housetops that we are soon going to enter into a new ice age.
Considering those things and taking into account that the same community
that is feeding us all of these different plates of garbage are the same
ones who are trying to tell us that all that lives had a common ancestor
in some primordial goo pond several billions of years ago, I have to
have my doubts.
The only thing I can trust is the word of Yeshua who
said that when he returns, it will be as in the days of Noah. And I
can't deny the fact that there was a greenhouse effect on earth before
the flood because the Bible says that it was that way. So, on the words
of Yeshua, and his written word, The Bible, I have to come to the
conclusion that there will be some sort of global warming in these last
days. As to the cause of this warming, I really can't pin down any one
cause. Many in the environmental movements are bent on blaming the
emission of pollutants from the burning of fossil fuels, and to some
extent that may be correct. But I will also have to say that I suspect
that the Earth goes through cycles from time to time. My guess is that
what we are going through now is a natural effect, and one that has to
happen for our planet to be like it was during the days of Noah.
If this planet does experience a global warming effect
due to large amounts of carbon dioxide in the upper atmosphere the
results will not be the same as they were before the flood. Temperature
wise it will get warmer, but there will be no canopy of ice to stop the
harmful rays from reaching the ground and effecting the people who walk
on it, live on it and die on it. In addition to that, science tells us
that we're slowly destroying the ozone layer that surrounds the earth.
This layer also protects us from the sun's harmful rays. I find it
interesting that two of the plagues found in the Book of Revelation have
to do with heat and effects of the sun. The first one to mention is the
plague of severe heat that will torment the people of earth. The second
plague will be hideous boils and skin lesions on people who accept the
mark of the beast. Could those lesions and sores really be cancer and
burns from the sun's rays that will not be blocked anymore during this
time? I find that to be a plausible assumption. What one has to find
comforting is that the plagues that God will send upon the Earth will
not affect anyone who has God's seal on them.
So the premise of this study is to
realize that there was a condition of global warmness that existed
before the flood of Noah. Yeshua said that conditions upon his return
will be just as they were in the days of Noah; that is, before the
worldwide flood that killed all life and drastically changed the
geography of this world. It's an established fact that some sort of
global warming event is happening currently on Earth. Whether this
warming is human induced or some sort of cyclical event is anyone's
guess; especially since various groups of scientists have many different
views on the matter. In contrast to the paradise that existed before the
flood, the current global warming event will lead to many woes;
including sicknesses and a decimation of all life on this planet. The
first globally warm event brought blessings to the planet whereas the
second global warming event will be part of the judgment of God upon a
perverse and wicked population. But those of us who trust in Yeshua and
have invited him into our hearts will be protected from what is to come.
