The word as used in
this context can only mean season or time. Some
have proposed, and rightfully so, that this
means that anti-Christ will abolish holidays
like Christmas, Easter and other Christian
holidays. This would be applicable if the
translation were to mean "season." And since the
context of the scripture talks about this evil
personage "wearing out the saints of the Most
High," this meaning could be a valid one.
But if it actually means "time," it could
mean that the evil one might try to actually
change time. Whatever the meaning, these actions
will be done to try and end the memory of El
Shaddai from the populace of the world. The evil
one has already watered down the meaning of
Christian holidays to the point where their
potency is almost that of water, but there is
still a memory by some of the true meaning of
Christian holidays. But if he thought that he
could either himself or one of his minions could
go back in time and prevent the events that the
holiday's commemorate, then there would be no
memory of the events because they would have
never happened. This is the whole Paradox Notion
of time travel, where if you go back and change
one thing, many things will change after that.
Note that the word "time," is used also at
the end of the scripture. But also note, that it
is a different word with a different meaning:
(Strongs - time) H5732
`iddan (Aramaic) {id-dawn'} Time, as in a) time of duration or b) year |
The angel is actually telling Daniel that the
anti-Christ will be allowed to pursue these
activities for three and a half years:
- Time - 1x1=1
- Times - 1x2=2
- Dividing of a time - 1x0.5=0.5 or 1/2
- 1+2+1/2=3.5
But notice something else. The last period of
time is a dividing of a time. A division can be
any amount. We will look at the cutting short of
the time later when we look at Matthew 24.
The Hebrew word for "law" in the passage is:
(Strongs - Law) H1882
  dath (Aramaic) {dawth} Decree, law: a) a decree (of the king); b) law;
c) Law (of God) |
This is a very interesting word. Basically,
it means law as it is decreed by any king or
legislative body, and even El Shaddai Himself.
But we have to remember that there are laws that
exist, that have existed since the Creation of
the Universe, that aren't studied in your run of
the mill law school, nor in Christian or Hebrew
schools. In the physical world we are governed
by scientific laws that El Shaddai established
when He made everything. There are many laws of
physics, such as the Law of Gravity, the Laws of
Thermodynamics, the Law of the Conservation of
Angular Momentum and so on. Each of these
physical laws pertain to our everyday life and
we know them because we live them every day,
even when we don't know what they are.
Most of these laws are fully understood, but
like every law, it only pertains to the reality
in which it exists. Most scientists if asked if
time travel is possible would probably answer
no, but their answer is based on some of the
physical laws and also the fact that as far as
we know, time travel hasn't been proven through
scientific methods. One physicist though, is
quotes as saying:
“For us believing physicists, the
distinction between past, present, and
future is only an illusion, even if a
stubborn one.” —Albert Einstein
The thing is that all that we know, up until
this moment, is all that we know. Those of us who
are born again believers in
Yeshua know that
there is a spiritual realm. A part of us exists
in that realm. It is commonly referred to at our
spirit. Unfortunate for us, our fleshly
existence blinds us from that reality. But there
are other beings that live in that realm,
specifically, angels and demons. The Bible tells
us that at one time Satan (a Cherub in reality)
rebelled and when he did, he convinced one third
of the angels to do the same. Nobody knows the
true number, but some speculate that it could be
anywhere from the tens of thousands to the
millions.
When one reads the Book of Enoch, one will
see that when these angels rebelled, aside from
cohabitating with human females, they also
introduced into the world much technology. When
Enoch is read, it appears to our modern minds
that the technology that the ancients received
from these angels was sort of primitive, and it
was a perversion of what El Shaddai really
wanted for his created creatures. But as we're
not doing an expository of Enoch, we shall move
on.
Our premise is, if these angels brought
technologies to the ancients before the flood,
then they can bring knowledge and wisdom of more
vast technology to modern human society. One has
to wonder about all of the inventions over the
past hundred years or so. Mankind went from
horse drawn buggies to interplanetary
exploration in just that short time. That is
just one instance of the bizarre and oddly
accelerated wisdom that mankind had been given.
But thou, O Daniel,
shut up the words, and seal the book,
even
to the time of the end: many shall run to
and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
Daniel 12:4
The inclusion of Daniel
12:4 into this study was a total surprise to me.
I had remembered that there was a scripture that
talked about knowledge increasing in the
end-times, so I did a search and found it. I
can't just include a scripture without tearing
it apart in an original language word study, and
this scripture was no different. What I found
surprised and thrilled me. Heck, it just plain
blew my mind. Thanks Ruach Ha Kodesh, you'll
never cease to amaze me.
The angel tells Daniel
to shut up the words and to seal the book.
Daniel was writing down all that he saw. Any
good student would do such a thing. Daniel was a
learned man, at times second only to the King of
Babylon. In essence, what the angel was telling
Daniel was to close the book (or scroll as the
case may be) and to put a seal on it. A seal was
usually made of wax and imprinted with the
emblem of the King who owned the book or
commissioned its writing. Only on the authority
of the person who possessed the seal emblem
could the seal be broken. A modern day
equivalent would be to lock something in a safe
and there being only the safe owner and the
person who owned the article locked in the safe
possessing the safe combination. In the ancient
world, opening a sealed document without
permission was punishable by death. This was
serious business.
And I saw
in the right hand of him that sat on
the throne a book written within and
on the backside, sealed with seven
seals. And I saw a strong angel
proclaiming with a loud voice, Who
is worthy to open the book, and to
loose the seals thereof? And no man
in heaven, nor in earth, neither
under the earth, was able to open
the book, neither to look thereon.
And I wept much, because no man was
found worthy to open and to read the
book, neither to look thereon. And
one of the elders saith unto me,
Weep not: behold, the Lion of the
tribe of Judah, the Root of David,
hath prevailed to open the book, and
to loose the seven seals thereof.
Revelation 5:1-5
Above we have a scroll
and it is sealed with seven seals. It is indeed
an important scroll having so many safeguards
keeping it shut tight. And as I mentioned above,
only the scroll owner, or an agent thereof can
open the scroll.
I would like to propose
a theory, if you will, that there is a
connection between the scroll that Daniel wrote,
and the one that Yeshua is only capable of
opening. Could it be that they are one and the
same scroll? There are so many parallels between
Daniel and Revelation that it goes way beyond
coincidence. Check it out and see for yourself.
Let's take a look at the
Hebrew definitions of the following words and
then we'll tie them all together at after this
section of our word study.
The next word that we
come to it the word "time." It is different for
the other words we've studied that mean "time."
In the definition just below, all instances
except for option "c" could be applicable in the
context of the passage.
(Strongs - Time) H6256
  eth {ayth}
Time: a) time (of an
event); b) time (usual);
c) experiences,
fortunes; d) occurrence, occasion
|
The next word that we
come to is the Hebrew word for "end." This is
the word that truly blows my mind in the aspect
of the context of the passage. The word is:
(Strongs - End) H7093
  qets {kates}
End: a) end, end of
(of time); b) end (of space)
|
The third word in the
passage is the Hebrew word for knowledge. It is:
Again, most if not all
of the definitions fit into the context of the
scripture.
And finally, let's look
at the Hebrew definitions for the word,
"increase":
(Strongs - Increase)
H7235

rabah {raw-baw'}1. be or become great,
be or become many, be or become much, be or
become numerous.
2. to become many, become numerous, multiply (of
people, animals or things).
3. to be or grow great.
4. to make large, enlarge, increase, become
many.
5. to make much, make many, have many.
6. to multiply or increase.
7. to make much to do, do much in respect of,
transgress greatly.
8. to increase greatly or exceedingly.
9. to make great, enlarge, do much.
10. to shoot.
|
So we can see that
"increase," in this passage means just that, to
become great. But if you look at number seven,
there is an interesting twist to the definition.
Increase could mean that many will transgress. A
quick thesaurus look at transgress comes up with
the following results: lapse, sin, contravene,
break the rules, do wrong or violate the law.
Because of this meaning, we'll have to
paraphrase two different ways.
So, if we were to tie
all of these words together with their Hebrew
meanings, what would a paraphrase look like?
Well, let's look at two ways to write it:
But
you, O Daniel, close the book and seal the
book, up until the occurrence of the end of
time and space: many shall move quickly from
here to there, and knowledge (wisdom and
skill) will grow exceedingly.
Or, if the scenario of
evil is inserted instead:
Buy
you, O Daniel, close the book and seal the
book, even up until the occurrence of the
end of time and space: many shall run from
here to there (aimlessly) and knowledge of
sin and wrongdoing shall increase.
My feeling about the two
paraphrases is that they could be melded into
one:
But
you, O Daniel, close the book and seal it up
too. It will remain this way until the
occurrence of the end of time and space.
Many will aimlessly run from here to there
and knowledge (wisdom and skill) shall
increase as well as the knowledge of sin and
wickedness.
So what the angel is
telling Daniel is that at the end of time and
space, technology will increase and that many
will run around looking for the truth, but will
not find it because they are looking toward that
technology to solve their problems. Because they
won't be looking to Yahweh for the answers, they
will adhere to worldly wisdom and reject the
truth. Gee, does that sound like the days we
live in? I think it does.
But what really jazzes
me about the scripture in Daniel is how it ties
in with the scripture in Revelation that we will
soon get to.
So when I think about the possibility of evil
entities giving time travel technology to humans
during the last seven years of human government
on earth, it doesn't seem too impossible an idea
to me.
But why would Satan need humans to create
such a device if he has the technology. Couldn't
he make the machine himself? Well we have to ask
the question; does time exist in the spiritual
realm. In every passage in scripture where
Yahweh talks about time, even where He's
referring to angels, demons and other things; He
mentions time periods. All things seem to have
appointed times. But time seems to be a physical
property, and physical properties tend to be
only reality in a corporeal world. I think that
Yahweh equates everything in physical terms so
that we can understand with our finite minds. In addition
to all of this, we don't know all of the
restrictions that El Shaddai has placed on Satan
and Satan's minions. Maybe they can see all of
the past but can't actually interact with it.
That would tend to explain how demons who
pretend to be departed relatives can know so
much about the person they are counterfeiting.
So since time is a physical property, perhaps
in order to change it, a physical being would
have to travel back in time to create physical
changes. Of course, this is all speculation, but
sound speculation nonetheless. Just maybe that
is why all of this abduction stuff is happening.
Maybe Satan and his emissaries are taking
sperm and ovum to create physical creatures that
could be embodied by demons who will be commissioned one
day during the time of Jacob's Trouble to start
their journey back in time to fight a war
against all that Yahweh has brought about. Of
course, they will fail, and we will see why
below in our study of a scripture in Revelation.
In addition to that, we have to remember that El
Shaddai has already appointed history to happen,
as we see in the following scripture:
Remember the former things of old: for I am
God, and there is none else; I am God, and
there is none like me, Declaring the end
from the beginning, and from ancient times
the things that are not yet done, saying, My
counsel shall stand, and I will do all my
pleasure: Isaiah 46:9-10
In the passage,
verse 9 ends with the apostrophe after "like
me." So, let's look at a few words in that
verse. The first word is the Hebrew translation
of the phrase, "of old." A wonderful word to say
the least as it proves El Shaddai's eternal
existence.
(Strongs - Of
Old)
H5769

owlam {o-lawm'} or `olam {o-lawm'}
1) long duration, antiquity, futurity, for ever, ever,
everlasting, evermore, perpetual,
old, ancient, world
a)
ancient time,
long time (of past) b) (of
future)
1) for ever, always
2) continuous
existence, perpetual
3) everlasting,
indefinite or unending future,
eternity
|
In this phrase, El Shaddai is telling us to
remember His past fulfilled promises. To the
people whom were being addressed initially by
this passage, He was reminding the reader of
fulfillments like His promise to Abraham
concerning the birth of Isaac, or how He told
Abraham in Genesis 15:13 how his descendents
would be slaves in Egypt. These are just two
examples that the people of Isaiah's time could
relate to where fulfilled prophecy was
concerned.
The first word in the passage that translates
out in English as being God is different
that the second word that translates out the
same. That first word is as described below.
|
(Strongs - God)
H0410

'el {ale}
1) god, god-like
one,
mighty one a) mighty
men, men of rank, mighty heroes
b) angels c) god,
false god, (demons, imaginations)
d)
God, the one true God
2) mighty things in
nature
3) strength, power |
In this meaning, El Shaddai was saying that
He was the one true God, in essence, the
Almighty God, which is what El Shaddai means
anyway. But we see something different with the
second word translated in the English to mean
God:
We have to remember that in Hebrew, when a
noun is being described as plural, a suffix that
sounds like "eem" is introduced to the word. For
example, a prophet is known as a Nevi, but the
collection of all of the prophetic books of the
Bible in the Tenach (Hebrew Bible) is referred
to as the Neviim, or Nev-ee-im. The same can be
said to the portion of the Tenach which houses
the writings, such as Psalms, Proverbs, Esther
and others. A single writing is known as a
Ketuvah. A collection of writings is called the
Ketuvim, or
Ketu-ve-im.
So if we have a word for God in Hebrew,
either "El," or "Elohah," and it is turned into
a plural we have "Eloheem." So what does this
suggest? It is a fancy way of saying what
believers in Yeshua know as the Trinity.
If one were to make a paraphrase about the
scripture that we are currently studying, one
could express it in the following terms:
Remember the
fulfillment of the prophecies that I spoke
of and fulfilled in the past: for I am the
Mighty One, The one and true God, and there
is none else; I am the Father, Son and Holy
Spirit, and there is none like me, For I
tell you what is going to happen far before
it ever happens, and from times far in the
past I have proclaimed things that are not
yet done, and everything I've said will come
to be, and I will see that it will happen,
because it is my pleasure to do so.
If Satan is indeed going to try to invent
some sort of time conveyance then he hasn't read
scripture very well. It is quite evident that by
looking at Isaiah 46-9-10, that God has written
history in advance. He has seen the end of
things and has cemented them hard and fast in
time's arena. To even think that any being,
either angelic, demonic or human could change
any historic event to change the eventual and
final outcome is on the order of moronic,
imbecilic and/or idiotic. Only a deranged or
insane mind could come up with such a scheme.
But those terms tend to describe anyone who has
practiced sin and has perpetuated it for self
gain and gratification.
