Our Mission and Purpose:
Last Days
Harvest isn’t a “perfect people” church. We are a
“people being perfected” church. We are a refuge for
the outcast, despised and rejected who truly love the
Lord.
We want
everyone to understand that we are a recovery church.
God has promised restoration, and we believe it is every
Christian’s right and responsibility to recover
everything they lost to a life of sin. So, recovery is
the transformation the Bible talks about in Romans
12:1-2
1 And so,
dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your
bodies to God. Let them be a living and holy
sacrifice--the kind he will accept. When you think of
what he has done for you, is this too much to ask? 2
Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but
let God transform you into a new person by changing the
way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to
do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect
his will really is.
We have seen God fully
deliver and heal people from all walks of life. We understand that life
without God has devastating effects on people, deeply impacting their
identities and their ability to relate to other people. We also
understand that exchanging old identities for a new one is a process.
Your old identity may be that of : “drug addict”, “abductee”,
“homosexual”, “violent”, “abuser”, “victim”, “gangster”, “prostitute”,
“self-made man or woman” and the like; but Jesus offers us the
opportunity to be a new person. We fully expect the process to take
time and require support. Anybody who has embraced Christ, and truly
desires to be free, will find Last Days Harvest is a safe place to come
into the light and be healed. All that is necessary is a willingness to
abstain from those practices which brought them into bondage in the
first place, and to let people who understand help you learn how to live
free. You don’t have to hide and try to manage your brokenness to be a
good Christian. Excuses won’t justify neglecting the destiny God put in
you. We believe God has a plan for your life that isn’t about
pretending, but being free to worship and serve Him unhindered by the
stuff of your past. He loves you where you’re at…and He loves too much
to leave you there.
For God is working in you, giving you the desire to obey
him and the power to do what pleases him.
Philippians 2:13
We recognize
that God gives gifts to every believer that empower us to
take our place in the Body of believers. We encourage every
member of our congregation to honest self-evaluation and
exercise of their gifts according to their level of faith.
We also recognize that God has called us to unity in Christ,
to which end we are responsible for our behavior. The Holy
Spirit compels us to be genuine and transparent, and, above
all, to love…not with the fake love of the world, but with
the true, unfailing love of Christ.
Here at
Last Days Harvest, we further understand that there are
vast differences between the curious, the willful and
the striving, and the entering in. We welcome the
curious. We resist the willful. We rejoice to serve
those striving to enter into a new life in Christ. We
make room for those already moving in their gifts to
progress in their calling toward their unique destiny in
Christ.
Come and be
loved!!
